Christmas Message from Peter Birdsall, President of Wittenborg

As we approach the end of another remarkable year at Wittenborg, Christmas offers us a moment to pause, reflect, and look forward with renewed confidence and purpose.

2025 has been a year of continued transformation for Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences. We have seen our international community grow in diversity, maturity, and academic ambition. Our staff, students, and partners have once again demonstrated resilience, professionalism, and a shared commitment to high-quality applied business education in an ever-changing global context. 

Innovation has remained at the heart of what we do. From curriculum development and research activity to the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into teaching, assessment, and management education, Wittenborg continues to evolve while staying true to its core values: academic integrity, employability, internationalisation, and personal development. These are not trends for us — they are long-term commitments. 

A particularly important milestone lies directly ahead of us. As we move towards the conclusion of our AACSB accreditation process, we do so with confidence and pride in the collective effort that has brought us to this point. Achieving this recognition will represent not only an institutional milestone, but also a shared reward for the dedication, professionalism, and perseverance of our entire academic community. When this journey concludes, it will be a moment for congratulations — for staff, students, alumni, and partners alike. 

Looking forward to 2026, we are also excited about working with new international and strategic partners who will support Wittenborg in entering the next stage of its development. These collaborations will strengthen our academic profile, enhance opportunities for our students and staff, and reinforce our position as a truly international university of applied sciences. 

Christmas is also a time for gratitude. I would like to sincerely thank our academic and professional staff for their dedication and flexibility, our students for their engagement and ambition, and our partners and stakeholders for their trust and collaboration. Your combined efforts ensure that Wittenborg remains dynamic, relevant, and forward-looking. 

As we look ahead to the year to come, we do so with optimism and determination. There will be challenges, as always — but also new opportunities to innovate, to strengthen quality, and to prepare our graduates even better for meaningful careers in a complex global economy.
