High Number of Prospective Students Expected to Participate as Many Now Work from Home

Wittenborg will be breaking new ground on 29 April when it will conduct its first online Open Day with prospective students! Restrictions on physical gatherings in light of the coronavirus are still expected to be in place in the Netherlands by the end of the month. Open Days are regularly held at Wittenborg's two locations in the Netherlands and abroad so students can learn and experience what it is like to study at Wittenborg.

Prospective students for Wittenborg's undergraduate and postgraduate studies usually attend these sessions in person, including a tour of the premises. Wittenborg's admissions manager in Amsterdam, Yanti Setiawan, said she is expecting even more students to attend the virtual Open Day, explaining: "More people are working or schooling online now, so it is easier for them to attend as they don't have to be there in person."
Wittenborg's last webinar, held at the end of March, saw a surge in students participating. "We expect the same to happen during the Open Day," said Setiawan. But how exactly does an Open Day differ from a Webinar?
According to Setiawan, there will be different sessions during the Open Day, starting with information about studying at Wittenborg in general. There will also be presentations from members of staff and current students, beamed in from their home offices, answering questions and giving information. Another session will be about the programmes at Wittenborg and what life is like for an international student in the Netherlands.
In contrast to the Open Day, webinars are usually conducted by an experienced admissions officer, assisted by a student, to answer questions from prospective students from all over the world.
